Greetings all! My name is Melissa, though I am affectionately (at least I hope it's affectionately) known as Birdie among my friends.

I am an aspiring novelist in the fantasy genre. My passions include all things culinary, reading classical and fantasy literature, making music (usually via voice or clarinet), dancing in all its forms, anything to do with fantasy, computer and console video games and collecting flamingos.

I live in North Alabama and am attending college. My husband Charlie and I are child free and I do not intend to have children ever. I do however want cats, dogs and I already have a pet corn snake.

That's about all I can think of about me. My journal is usually a collection of quotes, ramblings about my life, news articles and my rants about them, etiquette tidbits from Emily Post and from my own experiences in the world of retail, recipes and various other odds and ends. I do hope you enjoy!

Love and Cookies,

Birdie
